Event Description:
On Saturday, August 13th, High Plains Public Radio & the Amarillo Art Institute invite kids of the High Plains to CHASE THE SUNSET with a celebration of art, music, and nature to bid the summer a final farewell. From 6pm to 9:45pm, kids can enjoy a variety of fun activities to spark their creativity and curiosity, including presentations from Panhandle Plains Historical Museum and Palo Duro Canyon State Park, a nature walk through the canyon, landscape painting, pinch pot ceramics, outdoor collage art, a 15-foot mural, and so much more! At sunset, we’ll enjoy live acoustic guitar music by campfire, under the moon and stars. Plus, we’ll have snacks, drinks, prizes, games, books, and more! Come to the Palo Duro Canyon and bid the summer farewell! CHASE THE SUNSET with HPPR & AAI. Please note that SPACE IS LIMITED, and reservations are required for attendance.
