West Texas A&M University’s Distinguished Lecture Series and the Department of History will feature an original Freedom Rider who will share her story at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 22 via Zoom. The presentation, "Voting Rights in West Virginia, by Joan Browning, Freedom Rider,” will include Browning’s experiences. She also wrote about these in the autobiographical chapter “Shiloh Witness” in the book “Deep In Our Hearts: Nine White Women In The Freedom Movement” and an article titled “Invisible Revolutionaries: White Women in Civil Rights Movement Historiography.”
