March to help Babies
April 26, 2014

It’s that time of year again when we rally together to raise money to help save babies.  We were all babies at one time in our life, therefore we have all been touched by the March of Dimes at some point.  If you or your business would like to get involved please contact me (my information is below).  I can get you all the materials needed to start your fundraiser/walk team.  We are having a team captain training on February 27, 2014 and I can give you more details about this as well.   Here is our local Ambassador families story below and attached is a picture of Cooper and Harper:

Meet the Carson Family

Stephen, Ronna, Cooper, Harper and Angel Maclay

After attempting to get pregnant for five years, God blessed us when we found out we were having triplets due in April, 2011. The next few months consisted of morning sickness, loss of appetite and fainting spells. At the 28 week appointment the doctor detected contractions, and immediately sent Ronna to the hospital for what was supposed to be an overnight stay, but she stayed much longer. The doctor was able to delay delivery for 3 weeks however on February 11th, Maclay, Cooper and Harper were born. Each weighing about 3 pounds and were healthy in spite of being 9 weeks premature. Cooper and Harper grew and developed each day.  However, little Maclay was struggling. After four months of treatment, 5 surgeries, and many ups and downs Maclay was called HOME.

Today Cooper and Harper are healthy, happy, rambunctious three year olds.  We realized babies need their 39 weeks of development.  We support the March of Dimes so babies will not have to endure the hardships that our sweet Maclay did.

Families like the Carson’s are just one of many reasons that I am involved and participate in this event every year.  In an average week just in Texas:

• 7,723 babies are born

• 1,001 babies are born preterm

• 335 babies are born with a birth defect

• 48 babies die before their first birthday

Thank you for making a difference in a newborns life!
