SUMMARY:Foward Momentum: A Conversation on Women
DESCRIPTION:Women from all walks of life\, armed with a pioneering spirit\, traveled west aiding in the settlement of the high plains. With very limited personal rights\, these women were often tasked with the huge responsibility of running ranches and businesses while their men were away. How did the challenges of these women help to pave the way for future generations of Women of the West?\n\nJoin the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum for "Forward Momentum: A Conversation on Women"\, Thursday\, March 20th at 6pm in the Hazlewood Lecture Hall.\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest speakers will discuss the history of women's rights as they relate to politics\, economics\, legal concerns and personal freedoms\, and place them in a broader 21st century context by looking at where women are now\, and where women need to be going in the future. Guests are encouraged to participate in this forum discussion by posing questions to the panelists. \n\nThe event is free for PPHM Members\, WTAMU Staff and Students\, $5 for all other guests.\n\nPlease RSVP to Amy Mitchell at 651-2242 or amitchell@pphm.wtamu.edu by March 18th.
